Kovo Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
Kovo ("the app") is a media player for IPTV services. It is published by the Kovo developer ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your data when you use Kovo.
Kovo provides no content
Kovo does not include, sell or host any TV channels, movies, series or playlists. You add your own playlists (M3U links or Xtream Codes accounts) from a provider you have chosen yourself. You are responsible for having the right to watch that content.
Data we collect
We do not collect, store or sell any personal data. Kovo has no account system, no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs.
Data stored on your device
The following stays on your device only, in the app's private storage:
- the playlist addresses, usernames and passwords you enter;
- favorites, custom categories, watch history and resume positions;
- recordings you make;
- settings such as language, theme, profiles and parental PIN.
Uninstalling the app or clearing its data deletes all of it. Backups you export are files that you control.
Connections the app makes
- Your IPTV provider: Kovo connects to the addresses you enter to load playlists, the TV guide (EPG) and video streams. Your provider's own privacy policy applies to those connections.
- TMDB (optional): if you enter your own TMDB API key, Kovo sends movie and series titles to The Movie Database to fetch posters and descriptions. See https://www.themoviedb.org/privacy-policy
- Phone entry (QR code): when you add a playlist from your phone, Kovo opens a temporary web form that is reachable only on your local network. The data goes directly from your phone to your TV device and is not sent to us.
Children
Kovo is not directed at children under 13. A parental PIN is available to lock categories.
Changes
If a future version adds accounts or sync, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be shown in the app.
